WordPress, React & Next.js Web Development

The technology should fit the business. Some teams need an editable WordPress website they can manage themselves; others need a bespoke React or Next.js build focused on performance, interaction or scale.

The thinking behind it

The right platform is the one that makes the website easier to run, not harder to impress people with.

There is no benefit in forcing a content-led business into a custom stack if its team simply needs to update pages and offers. Equally, a highly bespoke digital experience should not be constrained by a platform chosen only because it is familiar.

What’s included

A focused process, not a pile of deliverables.

Development is treated as part of the user experience. The finished site should be fast, understandable to maintain and appropriate for the people who will actually manage it after launch.

Core Web Vitals and technical performance

Choose the right platform

WordPress, React or Next.js — based on what the business needs.

Some clients want direct control over everyday content. Others need a more bespoke application or performance-led front end. The technology follows the requirement.

01

Flexible content management

WordPress

Businesses that want direct control

A strong choice when the client team wants to edit pages, menus, offers, news or everyday content themselves. Elementor can provide a familiar visual editing experience while the underlying site is still structured carefully for performance and SEO.

  • Client-editable content
  • Elementor where appropriate
  • WooCommerce capable
  • Large plugin/integration ecosystem
02

Custom interfaces

React

Interactive and bespoke experiences

Useful when the project needs custom interface behaviour, dynamic components or an application-style front end where a component-led architecture adds genuine value.

  • Highly bespoke UI
  • Reusable components
  • Interactive experiences
  • Custom application logic
03

Performance & scale

Next.js

Fast modern websites and digital products

A strong option for performance-led websites and digital products that benefit from modern rendering, static generation and a scalable React architecture.

  • Excellent performance potential
  • SEO-conscious rendering
  • Static generation
  • Scalable React architecture

How the work moves

Clear stages. Fewer surprises.

01

Choose

Select the platform around editing needs, functionality, integrations, budget, growth plans and the people who will maintain the site.

02

Build

Develop responsive components and functionality with clean structure rather than layering fixes on top of fixes.

03

Integrate

Connect booking systems, ordering tools, forms, analytics, APIs or other services the customer journey depends on.

04

Handover

Launch with a setup the client can realistically own, including editable areas and guidance where the chosen platform requires it.

What it should improve

Built around commercial outcomes.

  • A platform matched to the actual business requirement
  • Easy content management where the client needs it
  • Fast, maintainable front-end foundations
  • Less unnecessary technical complexity

Questions

Before we start.

Do you still recommend WordPress?

Absolutely. WordPress remains a strong option when a business wants to manage its own content, needs familiar editing tools or benefits from its large ecosystem. It is selected when it suits the project rather than treated as a default.

Can clients update a WordPress site themselves?

Yes. That is one of the main reasons to choose it. The editable areas can be structured so everyday content changes do not require a developer, while more technical areas remain protected.

When would you choose Next.js instead?

Next.js makes sense when performance, custom functionality, modern rendering or a more bespoke component architecture outweigh the need for a traditional visual CMS editing experience.

Do you provide hosting?

1412 does not resell hosting. The client owns the hosting account. We can recommend an appropriate platform, help configure it and manage the website itself as part of an ongoing plan.
